Lip Enhancement Dallas, TX Lip Augmentation Dallas
Lip augmentation in Dallas can help you achieve full, plump lips or a lip flip. Full, smooth lips are a sign of youth, as lips tend to lose volume and shape as we age, becoming thin and undefined and a new source of wrinkles and lines.
In some cases, thin lips are a trait you are born with. Lip enhancement can also be done to add volume and shape to lips that are naturally thin and undefined.
Dr. Ali Abtahi’s goal with lip enhancement is to create naturally soft, fuller, and well-proportioned lips for his Dallas, TX patients. Lip enhancement can have you looking and feeling younger by restoring volume to your lips. Dr. Abtahi will discuss the possibilities with you in a personal consultation to decide if lip enhancement can help you achieve the look you are after, and which treatment will be most effective for you.
Am I a Good Candidate for Lip Enhancement?
If you are bothered by thin, poorly defined lips, if your lips disappear when you smile, or if your lips have lost volume with age, lip enhancement might be the answer for you. Skillfully done, lip enhancement can:
- Add volume to naturally thin lips
- Restore volume to aging lips
- Improve the aesthetic balance between the upper and lower lips
- Smooth vertical lines in the lips
- Refine the shape of the lips
- Create a lip flip
Lip Fillers in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX
Lip fillers are fine forms of injectable dermal fillers that are also used to add volume to or reduce wrinkles on the face and neck. These include Juvéderm® and Restylane®, which are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that binds moisture in the tissue below the skin surface. Both Juvéderm and Restylane also contain lidocaine, a numbing medication that makes the procedure more comfortable. Different formulations of the fillers are used to add volume to and plump lips or to fill and soften fine lip lines.
Injections of lip filler take about 15 to 30 minutes and require no downtime for recovery. Improvements are noticeable immediately after treatment and reach their full effect in about two weeks. Each treatment lasts from six months to a year, after which it can be repeated.

Dallas-Fort Worth Lip Enhancement FAQs
Your results will likely last anywhere from three months to nine months, depending on the product used and the amount of filler injected.
The more viscous the filler, the longer it will last.
First and foremost, it is critical that you have treatment with a filler that is specifically designed for the lips. To allow the lips to move and feel natural, a lip filler should be soft and flexible. On the other hand, a lip filler must not be too soft since it must be able to maintain the shape of your lips. To get the correct appearance and feel of the lips, the injector must strike a balance between softness and flexibility on the one hand and hardness on the other hand.
When too much filler is used, the outcome is an unnatural or fake appearance. To avoid this, it’s a good idea to check each area in a mirror as it fills up. Overfilling may be avoided by filling in little increments.
Many injections over time are another common cause of overfilling.
As you metabolize the filler, the treated areas will appear less filled. However, if the same amount of filler is injected, there will almost certainly be some left over, resulting in a more filled or plumper area. If you continue this process, the treated areas may become overfilled.
An allergic response is improbable. Hyaluronic acid fillers are unlikely to produce an allergic reaction since they are created from components comparable to those that exist in the body already. Only a small percentage of people are allergic to filler. They are, however, more typically allergic to the anesthetic, if you are allergic to lidocaine, please notify us before receiving treatment.
The injection locations may show bleeding, swelling, tenderness, redness, and bruising, which are common side effects.
After lip fillers, you should wait until the numbing medication has gone off before eating. It’s also a good idea to avoid foods that are difficult to eat, chew, or even messy during the first 24 hours, so you are less likely to wipe your lips and disturb the injection sites.
